Southwestern Adventure Mountain Men Style!
HOWDY from the Mountain Men! Rhonda, the staff, the board and I would like to thank you for your interest and support of our youth leadership program. We love helping young people experience real American adventure in the land of the free and home of the brave! Words cannot express the incredible rewards we receive from watching the magnificent growth of young people as they learn how powerful and talented they are on our journeys. You make it happen and we thank you !
Fort Smith Mountain Men is a
youth-leadership, travel-adventure camp for folks
ages 12-17. We travel camp the best of the West,
experiencing the beauty of God's handiwork in nature
everyday while learning American history, science,
outdoor skills and how to become better men.

A crew of 24 and Grady explored the best of the Southwestern Canyonlands of America on a 22 day adventure in July. We saw the incredible beauty of Sedone and Oak Creek Canyon, the
magnificence of sunrise at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, hiked the Narrows in Zion National Park,
hiked the Hoodoos of Bryce Canyon and that was while we were just getting started! A BIG THANKS to our friend NG
who flew all the way in from Southsea, England to join the Mountain Men for adventure.
Once we got back into Texas we enjoyed
an incredible last two days. We hosted adopted Comanche Indian Dancers and Singers along with Troop #6 from Corpus Christi, Texas
who specialize in Civil War reenactments. We fired off black powder rifles during the day, slept in real
Indian Tee-Pees at night and cooked the final Mountain Man cobblers while we sat around the campfire, sang, delivered awards and heard from our
mentor, Mr. Bob Meyer on the importance of camping in life. Next day, our herpetologist brought in pythons and rattlesnakes
to teach the guys about how to live and operate around these critters.
What an incredible learning experience and adventure we had.
Thanks to all who joined the crew and the staff and friends that made the adventure so FANTASTIC!
